DEA AGENT KILLED IN 3-CAR PILEUP
Special Agent Andre Jones, Supervising Special Agent in the New York
Division of the Drug Enforcement Administration, was pronounced dead on
arrival this morning after a three-car accident on the East River
Expressway just north of the Manhattan Bridge. Jones' car collided with
another car attempting to pass as Jones drove off the Expressway to
merge into traffic. The accident occurred at 3:27 a.m., and police say
that poor visibility due to a broken street lamp may have been a factor.
The driver of the other car was not charged with criminal wrongdoing.
Another car suffered minor damage in the accident. Neither driver was
injured.
