New art for OPERATIONAL HISTORY. EXPLORATION (26 JAN 1931): Dyer and Danforth enter a giant, dark tunnel that descends into the alien city. Hundreds of strange passages wind off from the entrance, and seem to exhibit an optical illusion effect. Tunnels split, dive, and curve at impossible angles.

I wanted to paint the Innsmouth explosion for OPERATIONAL HISTORY (as seen in ONCE MORE FROM THE TOP, and OPERATIONAL HISTORY) that gave birth to what would become DELTA GREEN. "THE EXPLOSION (2:51 AM): An explosion heard almost 20 miles away rocks the town, and cracks windows as far away as Essex.
